Vishal - Top Cop

Vishal is the latest hero who has agreed to tonsure his head for his forthcoming film sathyam.
Vishal, playing the role of a top cop in Sathyam had reportedly tonsured for a particular scene, based on the instructions of director Rajasekar.
According to Vishal, Sathyam, the film in which he is acting as a top cop for the first time will be filled with surprises. He believes that Sathyam would surely turn a new leaf in his career, since the storyline and screenplay has been penned in such a way.
It may be recalled that Kamal Haasan tonsures his head very often for different getups. Sathyaraj did it for Nooravuthu Naal and Amaithi Padai, Sarath Kumar did the same for his Suriyan, while Vikram tonsured for Sethu and Ajith for Red. Arun Vijay recently tonsured his head for Vedha.

Raja Vesham

Though Nayantara missed the bus at the last moment to be part of Vijay starrer Kuruvi, the actress will be happy now for she has been reportedly urged to play Vikram's heroine in Raja Vesham.
Vikram will team up with director Boopathy Pandian for a film titled Raja Vesham. Nayantara, who is currently acting with Dhanush (Yaradi Nee Mohini), Ajiit (Billa) and Vishal (Sathyam), would play the heroine. Mohan Natarajan of Rajakaliamman Films, who is producing Suriya-starrer Vel, is making Raja Vesham.

A R Rahman In Bollywood, Rahman bagged Aamir-starrer Gajini, directed by A.R. Murugoss. The original movie was a musical hit with Suttum Vizhi Chudarae song becoming a sensation, tuned by Harris Jeyaraj. Aamir Khan’s favorite music director is said to have given sensational tunes to Aamir and left A.R.
Murugadoss bold over. People can compare the songs only after the movie’s music is released, but that is bound to happen in mid 2008. Still the competition is well worth a wait. Simbhu's Silambattam with Shreya

Grapevine has it that Shriya will play Silambarasan's heroine soon. The actor will soon commence shooting for a movie titled Silambattam. The film marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Saravanan. She is currently acting with Vijay in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan and Kanthaswamy opposite Vikram. Lakshmi Movie Makers, the producers of Silambattam, have reportedly agreed to pay Shriya a hefty salary to be part of the movie.

Pooja is the new heroin in "Naan Kadavul"

Director Bala has replaced three heroines so far in his "Naan Kadavul" film. The film shooting is going on in Theni with the latest entry Pooja. Naan Kadavul began with Actress Bhavana who was later replaced by Karthika who has again replaced by Bharathi who is the heroine of the film Ammuvagiya naan again the heroine has been replaced now by Pooja.She says, I do not know about the other actress who were approached for this movie. When I was in Bangalore director Bala called me. I agreed to act in this movie without asking any questions. Now filming is going on. Whatever Bala asks me to do I do that. Other than that I do not ask about the story or character. There is a lot of gossip about Bala. I learnt that all that is not true after working with him.

Gautham Menon bowled by Nethra:

Gautham Menon's much expected project Varanam Aayiram has been shelved for the time being as Surya is committed to other projects. Meanwhile, the director was also on the look out for a short-term project and out came Chennaiyil Oru Mazhai Kaalam.Trisha, along with a host of new faces, features in this movie, the story of which revolves around IT professionals. Gautham Menon, who was on a hunt for the second heroine, seems to have been helped by the latest flick, Thoovanam.
The young director, who recently caught up with the movie, seems to have been bowled by the heroine – Nethra’s performance. He has now roped her in for the plum role. Nethra portrayed the role of an NRI girl in Thoovanam.

Ameer searching for School girl:

Ameer finally joins the bandwagon of the already successful director-turned-heroes with his Yogi. With this, he will challenge the likes of Cheran and Sundar C who have been accepted into the mainstream by Tamil cinema. Subramania Siva will direct the Ameer starrer Yogi. Siva declares that Ameer plays a rustic baddie in his Yogi and that his plot is tad different from the rest of the movies. “Ameer has no intention to enjoy the privileges of being a hero or to throw tantrums on the sets,” states Siva. “That is not the reason he decided to take up the role. I wanted a face just like Ameer’s and I thought I might as well direct him.” Siva replies.
Ameer does not have a heroine paired opposite him for Yogi. However, the director is busy searching for a schoolgirl with adolescent looks for an important role. “Ameer plays a rowdy in my film and the story is about his friendship with a schoolgirl,” Siva points out as a matter of fact.

My name is Billa-Ajith:

With Billa 2007 making great expectations among Ajith Fans, there is good news for all of them. The first print ( first copy ) of the flick is sold for Rs. 23 crore and it would rise up to more amount in future with the remaining prints and other rights too. London Karuna moorthy is holding the distribution rights for the film and is releasing the movie throughout the globe.
Shooting for the film hit the floors during the month of April and is soon progressing towards the completion. The entire film except two songs have been finished completed and rest of the songs is being canned in AVM Studios. A grand decoration of set has been put up over here in AVM for shooting the remix song of ‘My Name is Billa’.
Actress Namitha and Nayanthara are also thrilled about the film’s release and they were fascinated by Ajith Kumar’s enthralling performance in both stunts and dialogue deliveries.

Tune your Ears for Dasavatharam:

The movie is nearly complete, except a single song. The film comprises six songs tuned by the Bollywood music maestro Himesh Reshammiya. Shruthi Haasan, daughter of Kamal Haasan has also sung for this film.
If everything goes on as planned, and the shooting wrapped up soon, then ‘Dasavatharam’ may have a grand audio launch in October. The producer expects to launch the music on a grand scale. The post-production of the film will start in full swing after completing the last song.
Kamal has already started the dubbing process and is making his characters livelier. The graphics part is also being done on a brisk pace. And if all the work is completed on the predetermined date then the movie has a good chance to make it for Pongal.

A R Rahman talks about Rajini’s Sultan - The Warrior

A R Rahman, who is all set to initiate the works of "Sultan - The Warrior", the movie in which Superstar Rajinikanth would appear in an animated character for the first time, has said that the film will come with lively songs which will surely entice the masses.
Singing paeans for the movie, Rahman says, "Sultan is not like other Rajini films, the film don’t have a usual entry song advising fans how to lead a happy life. However, there will be peppy numbers which will make audience to dance in theaters." On Sivaji, Rahman says, "I am happy that all the songs have been well received. I heard from Shankar that Rajini sir was happy with my work." Adding to this, "Latha Rajinikanth has sent a bouquet to me as a token of appreciation."

'Doctor' Vijay says

Actor Ilayayathalapathy Vijay is now Dr. Ilayayathalapathy Vijay. The MGR University is conferred an honorary doctorate on him recently. Vijay's fans organized a big function to celebrate this event. Speaking at the function Vijay said that he was greatly honored to receive the doctorate. He said that he would like to be called as Ilayathalapathy and not as Dr. Vijay.
