Playing cards in a Train!
Jeevan has become the highlight of Tamil cinema after giving consecutive hit movies Thirutu Payalae' and 'Naan Avan Illai' and 'Machakkaran'. The directors are standing in a queue to tell a suitable story for him. It is considered as a success journey for those who go to see him just like the story of journeying in a Sinbad ship. He is a wonderful person of that kind.
A new director has somehow met him and who told a pleasing story by which he has also got the appreciation for the same in that moment itself. Jeevan is as usual acting as an antihero role in the movie 'Payanigal Gavanathirku' which is directed by this new director.
The story of this movie is based on the incidents which are happening daily when traveling in train from Arakkonam to Chennai and how Jeevan is caught by those incidents. What are the rules which are not followed when traveling in train? They are also going to tell of how the passengers are suffering during the travel. Especially they are going to bring in the issue of how the public are affected by some of the strange people who play cards in the train.
They have deposited a huge amount to the Southern Railways since the shootings are going to be taken place for more number of days in the railway station. It looks like they have to check the tickets of many officers if the movie is released.

Kangalum kavi paduthe:
In the midst of directors, keeping rubbish Tamil titles just for namesake, Director K.Chandranath has kept a very good Tamil name "Kangalum Kavi Paduthey"; for the film which he directs. He has worked as an Assistant Director with P.Vasu for almost 30 films. The confidence for Chandranath on Ilayaraja, is as equal as the confidence on his own story.Chandranath and Ilayaraja had gone to Mookambika temple. There Ilayaraja had asked him to narrate the story. Instead of narrating the story which he had in his mind, he narrated a different story, without his knowledge. He has filmed that second story only. The whole film has been filmed in Karaikal. He feels that-rounding the world for locations is not worth at all. All kind of locations are available in and around Karaikal. Three Heroes and three Heroines are introduced by Chandranath at the same time.Inspite of everyone being Debutants, he feels that Ilayaraja's music will attract everyone to the cinema halls. Producers are from Construction industry. It seems that- they had made the right mixture.

Who will be Crowned? Guru R Sishya?
Even though A.R. Rahman is still considered the genius in music, his lack of time to do Tamil movies left a space wide open for his student Harris Jeyaraj to take over. All his movies have become a rage in Kollywood.Harris Jeyaraj’s Unnale Unnale was the talk of the town before A.R. Rahman came back, all guns blazing, with Sivaji which is still ruling the charts. After getting the Filmfare award for Sillunu Oru kadhal A.R. Rahman is ready with ATM and Harris with Bheema.
A R Rahman In Bollywood, Rahman bagged Aamir-starrer Gajini, directed by A.R. Murugoss. The original movie was a musical hit with Suttum Vizhi Chudarae song becoming a sensation, tuned by Harris Jeyaraj. Aamir Khan’s favorite music director is said to have given sensational tunes to Aamir and left A.R.
Murugadoss bold over. People can compare the songs only after the movie’s music is released, but that is bound to happen in mid 2008. Still the competition is well worth a wait. So is the case of Gautham Menon’s next with Trisha in the lead. And the director, for the first time, will work with A.R. Rahman. It will also be his first movie away from Harris Jeyaraj’s studio.
Usually Harris is said to have given the best for Gautham’s movies as he was the one who introduced him to films. Starting from Minnale to Pachai Kili Muthu Charam the music has been mesmerizing. Gautham opting for Rahman for this IT-based musical was a shocker to many. Lets see how this musical competition between the Guru and the Sishyan fares, and who will be crowned the best in Kollywood

Did Rahman disrespect our National anthem?:
A.R. Rahman, had released Vande Mataram on the occasion of the 50th year of independence and in the 60th year he came up with an album "Jana GanaMana". Even though the intentions were good, he seems to have forgotten that there is a law that the national anthem should be sung in a specific way and should be finished within the stipulated seconds.
And if done otherwise it is deemed as disrespect to the national anthem and could attract a sentence of a maximum of three years imprisonment. And now many people are ready to sue Rahman for this action.

Musical review of Bheema:
The successful pair of the hit film Samy, Vikram and Trisha comes together once again in lead roles in Bheema. Directed by Lingusamy.Harris Jayaraj has created an enjoyable fare deploying an assortment of youthful vocals and a slew of instruments including sarangi, santoor and dilruba predominantly used in Hindustani music. Pa Vijay-Muthukumar-Yugabharathi-Thamarai team's evocative wordscape heightens the lilting quality of the numbers.
The album kickstarts with Oru mugamo, sung by Karthik and this year's National Award winner, Naresh Iyer. It paints a picture of the contradictory facets of the hero's personality.
It is a lively track with mild hip-hop, extra sounds and minimum percussion with predominant drum beats. The enjoyable rhythmic pattern, which incidentally is common with most of the numbers in this album, and ebullient rendition are the core of its appeal.
Following this, we have Mudhal mazhai, which was reportedly shot in Switzerland and has pithy lyrics. The abiding rhythm and easy flowing rendition by Prasanna, Hariharan and Mahathi give this romantic melody an alluring simplicity. The lyrics give vent to soft sentiments, fantasies and longings of the lovelorn hearts. Mahathi's dulcet voice has a lisping quality. Minimal percussion as in the earlier track, guitar interlude and good chorus are other highlights of this number. However, there is a reworked feel in certain places.
Rangu rangamma rendered by Vijay Jesudas, Kailash Kher and Swarnalatha is a weighty and vibrant track. The number shot onboard a ship in mid-sea has extended drumbeats relentlessly unleashed in the prelude as well as in the interlude. The accompanying soft anklet sounds give it a mystic feel. Swarnalatha's pliant voice is a perfect foil to Kailash Kher's deep tone and timbre. The number with a raw earthy feel once again gives Vijay Jesudas a chance to break free from the shackles of his usual soulful and doleful repertoire.
Then comes Ragasiya kanavukal, rendered by Hariharan and Madhushree, in a casual leisurely style creating a poetry recital feel. The beginning of this number reportedly shot at Thirumala Naicker Mahal in Madurai, has a mild Hindustani flavour. Excellent rhythmic helpings, inspiring instrumentation and the very brief parallel track in between give this love duet a boost. The number has an appreciable simplicity and serenity.
Siru parvayalae by Karthik and Harini, another love duet, has a folksy whiff with a contemporary style to it. Karthik in full-throated fashion sails through the melodious passages with perfect harmony. Harini gives adequate support with her lilting rendition in her silken yet deep voice. The instrumental interludes are absorbing.
The composer has saved the best for the last with Enathuyirae. Along with Chinmayi, Sadhana Sargam and Soumya Rao, the song introduces a new voice, Nikhil Mathew, the winner of Vijay TV's Airtel super singer contest. Nikhil's voice has tonal depth and he sings excellently. He holds his own creditably well with the other experienced singers. Enathuyirae is a caressingly soothing mood defining number.

Venkat Prabhu’s number centiment:
After the success of 'Chennai 600028', director Venkat Prabhu believes that having numbers in the titles will help his films at the box office. He has therefore titled his next as 'Desiya Nedunchalai 47' (National Highway 47).
Prabhu is planning to introduce new faces in 'Desiya Nedunchalai 47' and like his previous film Yuvan Shankar Raja is going to score the music.
"The Boss" regained the top slot:
The top five Tamil films are:
1. 'Sivaji : The Boss' - Director: Shankar. There is no one to topple Rajnikant from the throne.
2. 'Kireedam' - Director: Vijay. 'Kireedam' is in the news for its novel ending. But Ajith fans didn't like watching him as a loser and under their pressure, the filmmakers decided to change the climax to a positive one. The question is, whether it is a good sign to allow fans to dictate how a film should be made?
3. 'Veeraappu' - Director: Badri. After 'Kireedam', this is another remake of a Mohanlal starrer. Based on 'Sphadikam', a successful commercial venture, Sundar C's second outing as the hero can also be called a success.
4. 'Thee Nagar' - Director: Thirumalai. Actor Karan adds one more feather to his cap with this film's success. Close on the heels of his hit film 'Karuppusamy Koothagaitharar', 'Thee Nagar' came and is doing a good business at the ticket window. Karan has arrived as a hero.
5. 'Chennai 600028' - Director: Venkat Prabhu. 'Chennai 600028' celebrated its hundred days in the theatres with a cricket match.
